America's Favorite Animal Shelter Contest
Adopt-a-Pet.com (formerly 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com)
is partnering with Care2.com, the largest online community of people
passionate about making a difference, to sponsor "America's Favorite
Animal Shelter", an online contest that will run from September 22 to
November 1, 2008 to raise awareness about pet adoption. The group with the most votes
will win a $10,000 donation from Care2.com, and multiple participating
shelters will win $1,000 from Adopt-a-Pet.com. See below for

ABOUT THE CONTEST AND PRIZES:
The goal of this contest is to reward local shelters and rescue
groups for the amazing work done to help homeless
animals, and to increase public awareness about the need to support
pet adoptions to save animals' lives.
The contest is simple, fun and free:
- Individual participants vote online for their favorite local
shelter or rescue group, and the winning group will win a $10,000
donation from Care2.com.
- There will be cash prizes for runner-ups, as well as five weekly
$1,000 random prizes from Adopt-a-Pet.com to ensure that all groups,
large and small, have a chance to win a much-needed donation.
- Any individual can vote only once in the contest, but there is no
limit to the number of people you can recruit to vote for your group!
- The 20 people who recruit the most friends to vote for their
favorite shelter will win a $50 gift certificate.
