I know the female Great Dane I had ralely didn’t eat that much. I had a Chesapeake Bay Retriever at the same time & he ate a good bit more than the Dane. Both were active dogs. They’d go along with us when we rode our horses, some days we’d ride 20 miles. The Great Dane was a much calmer dog in the house though. She’d come in & we’d tell her “Park it.” & she was down for the night. Good thing, our house was only about 900 square feet. She took up most of the living room floor sprawled out. LOL She was an awesome dog. Very good with the livestock. She especially loved the barn kittens. She would lay stretched out in the sun & all the kittens would come & lay on top of her. I miss that big ole silly dog!References :
