Casey is a beautiful tall slender golden girl who is looking for her forever home. She came into rescue as an owner surrender.
Casey has great house manners, is not a counter surfer, doesn’t get into the trash and leaves her foster’s belongings along. She knows some commands: sit, lay down, give paw. She is very alert and responds nicely to correction.
She is housetrained, knows the doggie dog and walks OK on a leash. She has a high prey drive when she sees a cat or squirrel. The foster mom uses a gentle leader when she goes on her walks this helps with Casey’s pulling. When Casey sees another dog on her walks she has a tendency to bark and lunge at them.
Casey is being fostered with three other dogs (two goldens and one Jack Russell mix). She is fine with foster dogs, but can be a little testy with other dogs she doesn’t know. Her socialization skills need some work. Casey also doesn’t like loud noises, thunder or fireworks.
Casey is a water dog, she LOVES swimming. She would be in the pool 24/7 if she had the opportunity. She loves swimming after tennis balls, any kind of squeaky toy or rope toy. She also loves people. Any chance she gets for a belly rub, or brushing she is there.
She is very sweet, and has the personality of a golden, wants to be with her humans. She has been around young children but with her size it would be best with children over 5 years old. She can be left alone for up to 5 hours and hasn’t had a problem. She is looking for a very special home where she will get the ALL attention, no other dogs or cats. She will make someone a very happy companion. Some additional training is needed for her socialization skills.
