Frankee is a sweet, loving, low-energy and velcro Golden girl who absolutely adores her tennis balls. She loves to take walks, play with her ball, follow her people around the house and get lots of snuggling.
Frankee was relinquished to rescue by her family where she had been acting out just recently – likely competing for attention and food amongst multiple other dogs and small children in the home…or it may have been from discomfort from a benign tumor we removed from her jawline. Either way…she has been a perfect angel in her foster home.
She is wonderful with people of all ages and dogs of all sizes. Cats are unknown but we think she would probably be just fine. She attended Surf City Surf Dog where she loved discovering the waves and beach, selecting a new tennis ball and meeting everyone there.
Her activity level is pretty low as is to be expected at her age. In foster care she goes on a leisurely 1.5 – 2 hr walk in the park where she enjoys meeting new 2 and 4-legged friends of all ages. When she gets too tired, she head to a car to show she is done….any car 🙂 She loves her ball but chasing it only lasts about three throws and then she just wants to lay down with it.
Frankee is house broken and great in the house but counter surfing at her level is possible. She is fine left alone in the house – apparently laying by the door until her people return. She will bark at sounds or sometimes a reflection in a glass door but think of her more as an early warning system than your protector. Frankee loves to be pet all the time. She lays her head on the bed in the morning for lots of early morning scratches and would love for you to lay on the floor with her and give more pets. A typical Golden through and through, she will raise her paw for more belly rubs if you stop. She loves to lay on the cool tile – not big on dog beds or blankets. Frankee knows sit, stay, leave it, down. She shakes both paws also.
Frankee has been diagnosed with epilepsy in her prior home where it was managed with no seizures and no incidents with a therapeutic does of phenobarbital. This has continued and been verified in foster care also.
