Welcome To
Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue
We are the original and only Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue. Our dogs are all in foster homes, never kenneled, temperament tested, socialized and vetted prior to adoption. Our goal is to find the perfect home for each individual dog and each one has their own personal representative.
Our mission is to find loving, lifetime homes for all Southern California Golden Retrievers in need, regardless of conditions or circumstances. We will always strive to heal the sick and injured, rehabilitate the neglected and abused, and nurture the aged and unwanted until we find the perfect family who will shower them with unconditional love.
Our vision is to build a refuge - a sanctuary - to serve as a halfway house where each of our beloved Goldens can rest and recuperate, prior to being placed with a foster or permanent family and moving on in their new lives. |
Help Kaitlyn & Penny!
Our major medical fund has taken a huge hit this month.
Kaitlyn was hit in the knee with a bat = $3,500
Penny was hit by a motorcycle; broken leg and skin graft = $3,700

Please consider donating-- even just a few dollars. The money does add up.
Our choice is to ask for money or not pull animals in need of surgery.
We'll do the work and shed the tears, we just need some help. Thank you!

June 3rd
Celebrate Balboa Island!
It’s that time of year on Balboa Island and SCGRR plans once again participate in "Celebrate Balboa Island Day" - a short parade on the island. We hope volunteers, fosters, adopters and supporters will come together for some summer fun with our dogs and to help promote SCGRR. We will have SCGRR bandanas and water for the dogs. This year’s theme is “Rock Around the Island” (flair is encouraged) and the Parade will be on Sunday, June 3, at 11:00 AM (you will need to be at the staging area, next to Union Bank on Bayside Drive, by 10:00 AM). The parade organizes on Bayside Drive, crosses over the Balboa Island Bridge, travels down Marine Avenue and ends at the fire station - approximately two and one-half blocks. Balboa Island is in Newport Beach, Orange County. If you have any questions, contact nedra.plonski@gmail.com.
