Welcome to Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue
We are the third largest Golden Retriever Rescue in the country, finding homes for over 300 dogs annually.
Our dogs are placed in foster homes where we can assess their temperament and provide them with all the necessary veterinary care they would need prior to adoption.
Our Goal
Our goal is to find loving, lifetime homes for each dog that comes through our doors. Every dog has their own representative from the time they enter the rescue through to their adoption.
Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue homeless Golden Retrievers, Golden mixes, and like breeds in Southern California from situations of abuse and neglect regardless of conditions or circumstances.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build a sanctuary to serve as a halfway house, where each of our beloved rescue dogs can rest and recuperate while we evaluate their needs, prior to being placed with a foster or permanent family.
7+ year old Cork came in as a stray to Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue after he was found at a local shelter. Once we rescued him, our vet noticed a possible heart condition through basic vetting. He had labs, xrays and echocardiogram to determine a diagnosis. We took him to a cardiologist to read
Together with our rescue partners in Turkey, South Korea, Taiwan and China, SCGRR works to bring beautiful and often abandoned Golden Retrievers to Southern California.
International Rescues are often very costly to the rescue as the dog can be the price of a full fare ticket if we do not have volunteers that are already
