Happy came into our lives from SCGRR on March 17, 2018, at almost 8 years old.  He was named Hachi and his previous owners did not give him the attention he deserved.  We were determined to fix that.

Happy was the center of attention for 3 ½ years.  Family vacations, daily walks in the park and neighborhood, greeting students at Cal Tech, mobile spa treatments, and a daily love.  His favorite activity was simply riding in the car watching the world, while receiving smiles and waves from those who saw him.

On August 31, 2021, Happy was returning with the family from beach play in Santa Barbara.  While riding home in the car, feeling the wind and smelling the ocean, he laid down on the seat and died just minutes later of severe pericardial effusion.

There has never been a kinder and gentler dog than Happy.  He brought joy to everyone who met him.  We want to thank SCGRR for allowing us to be in his life and cannot express how much he was loved or how much he will be missed.
