Brando

Brando

It is with great sorrow that we needed to say goodbye to our beloved Brando. We adopted him from SCGRR at the age of 9. He was now 13.

A few months after we adopted him, we discovered he had cancer. He went through surgery, they got all the margins, and he has been cancer free ever since. A few years later he had laryngeal paralysis. Again he went through emergency tie-back surgery. He may have lost his bark, but he came through it fine. We recently adopted 2 puppies from SCGRR and Brando was suddenly a puppy himself playing with both of them. Somehow he developed a staph infection in his leg. We believe it was from his groomer who accidentally nipped a skin tag that was on his leg. He couldn’t walk but with heavy medication, he made it through that too and was back to himself. Then the staph infection came back and was all over his back, on his legs and ear. More medication. But one day last week we noticed his leg was swollen and he had another lesion. Off to emergency we went. The next few days his bladder was so full and he couldn’t pee. Back to emergency where they drained his bladder. Unfortunately, we could see he was in pain and having trouble getting up and standing. We knew it was time. We couldn’t let our boy suffer. He will always be in our hearts and is now running free of pain with all our past babies who we loved so dearly. He will be missed.

Rest In Peace Brando.
