Broonzy is a sweet, fun-loving pup who brings entertainment and joy to everyone around him. He was born with an underdeveloped cerebellum, which is the part of the brain which controls fine nerve to muscle signals and affects his coordination.
If that wasn’t enough, Broonzy also has problems with his vision. Cataracts have cause blindness in his right eye which will require eye drops (lifetime) to prevent glaucoma from developing. His left eye indicates development of a smaller cataract. Upon further evaluation by his ophthalmologist and neurologist, it has been determined he is not a surgical candidate for numerous reasons.
Most recently, Broonzy has been experiencing cluster seizure episodes and has been taken to the ER twice. Now on anti-seizure meds, his specialists are trying to find that right combination of medication that will work best for him.
Despite these issues, Broonzy loves to play with his toys, tug-o-war and wrestle with his other dog pals. He also enjoys walks with his buddies, the faster the better as his coordination is better at a quicker pace. Mostly, he loves his people. Broonzy is only 1½ years old and this is the best it will get for him.
