$ 1500 to go

7+ year old Cork came in as a stray to Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue after he was found at a local shelter. Once we rescued him, our vet noticed a possible heart condition through basic vetting. He had labs, xrays and echocardiogram to determine a diagnosis. We took him to a cardiologist to read the results and they issued a second echocardiogram. These tests show an arrhythmia in which his heart beats almost half of what it should. They recommended a heart monitor/halter for a better conclusion and diagnosis. Without these tests, we are unable to safely neuter him or find the best possible family to adopt him to. We are hoping meds will stabilize him and enable us to safely and confidently neuter and re home him as soon as possible. Vetting at the initial vet was $685, the cardiologist was $506, the heart halter/monitor is $337 – all with our rescue discount.

Any donation possible would be helpful to cover most of his expenses. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support!

Our mission is to find loving, lifetime homes for all Southern California Golden Retrievers in need, regardless of conditions or circumstances. We will always strive to heal the sick and injured, rehabilitate the neglected and abused, and nurture the aged and unwanted until we find the perfect family who will shower them with unconditional love.

Our vision is to build a refuge – a sanctuary – to serve as a halfway house where each of our beloved Goldens can rest and recuperate, prior to being placed with a foster or permanent family and moving on in their new lives.
