Dakota *Always in our hearts
Last Saturday after being the most “petted” dog at the June Lake Beer festival he started having seizures in the middle of the night with bleeding from the nose. The vet thought the cause might be a fungal infection so we sedated him and started giving him antibiotics. We saw some improvement as the granule seizures stopped, he was very hungry, and he was just having smaller seizures. We brought him home from Mammoth on Thursday and for a while he was more alert. But he could not stand up and the smaller seizures happened with more frequency. After a few rough nights Dakota became very lethargic and it came apparent he was not going to get better and was suffering a lot.
We took him to the vet today and he passed quickly and peacefully. We had him only a short time and he stole our hearts. The vacuum in our lives his loss will create is unfathomable. He is in a better place and we look forward to seeing him again on the other side.
