Dustie – Adopted!
Dustie was surrendered to a local shelter when her family was moving and could not take her with them. During her spay, the veterinarian found fluid in her abdomen, which was tested and was felt to contain cancer cells. She had another surgery to remove a small mass which was found on a follow up ultrasound. Biopsy of the mass revealed an ovarian tumor. It has been 2 months since the second surgery and her latest ultrasound did not reveal any fluid or masses! Because there was fluid in her abdomen, it is felt that it is likely that the cancer will come back at some point. It is unknown when this might happen, but for now she is doing well and is happy and waggy.
