Kokkino is a sweet, loving 11-12-year-old who came to us when his owner developed major health issues and felt she couldn’t properly take care of him. Kokkino quickly adapted to his new home both with us and our two dogs. He loves his two walks a day and makes sure he gets his leash on first and gets in the way when we try to leash our dogs. He has a great demeanor and loving personality.
We have seen no major issues with Kokkino since he moved in with our family. He is housebroken and is not destructive per chewing things or digging up outside. Although he doesn’t play with our dogs he gets excited to be with them we are playing ball. We have left him inside and outside when we are out without any problems. Kokkino is like a giant teddy bear.
We are currently using an ointment on his face to heal an area that is an open sore. The vet treating him feels that this ointment will heal the area. He is not on any medications. For his age, he is in good health. He has had bloodwork done and all his shots are up to date. Kokkino is micro-chipped. Hopefully, this gentle boy will have some more good years of living.
He has shown no aggression towards other dogs or people. He does pull on his walks when he sees rabbits, birds etc. He is trained to a gentle leash but we are not currently using until his face heals. Besides loving to walk he needs to do so to keep his legs strong. X-rays revealed minor arthritis in his back leg. But don’t we all at this age.
