Northwestern Duke – Adopted!

Meet Northwestern Duke, known to his foster family as Peanut, a friendly, good natured, handsome golden who was rescued from a local shelter.

We don’t know about his past but he has been a perfect guest in his foster home. He is house trained, knows the doggie door, does not counter surf, is not food aggressive and does not bother his foster’s belongings.

He has medium energy, doesn’t bark too much and is happy to be with you every moment of the day. He is fairly good on his walks and has been friendly towards other people and dogs but the retriever in him takes over and his leash skills go out the window as soon as he spots a cat, squirrel, rabbit or other free running furry creature. So, some training might be helpful and definitely a home without cats is a must.

He is gentle most of the time but will jump up at times, so a home without small children might be best. He gets along well with his foster brother but really loves his people. He would probably be happiest with his humans home most of the time. He is also fairly submissive and would do well as an only dog or with a nice gentle doggie sibling. Daily walks, a toy to chew and lots of love an attention would make this golden boy supremely happy.
