Meet Sparkle – Adopted!

Meet Sparkle. She was brought into the shelter as an owner surrender by her family who stated they were moving. Luckily, one of our volunteers was there to pick up another dog at the time and we scooped her up as well; only 45 minutes after she had been dropped off.

She was confused and scared as her whole world had suddenly been turned upside down. After a few anxious days in her wonderful foster home she has started to settle in. She is as sweet as can be and knows her basic commands, is housebroken, friendly, loving and gentle. She is good with children. She has met the resident cat, and while she was initially a little bewildered by what it might actually be and barking at him, she is getting much better now.

She can show initial shyness with strangers but warms up quickly. She doesn’t dig , bark excessively or chew, and she walks well on a leash. She really enjoys playing, loves going to the dog park with her foster sister and loves her plush, squeaky toys. She is also very affectionate, and loves to be pet, especially her head and belly.

She has a lot of energy and keeps right up with her one year old golden sister and can be protective of her if she thinks another dog may be wanting to harm her.
