Frankie came into rescue from Mexico. Once he was vetted at AMC and neutered, he went to his foster home in Orange County. He is so happy and sweet! A few days later, when it was time to remove the sutures at the local vet in Tustin, they noticed a growth on his penis and recommended following up with our vet. We took him to AMC the next day and there he was tested for TVT, but they also noticed a limp and sensitivity in his knee joint. After x-ray, Frankie was diagnosed with a blown out knee. The test for TVT came back positive and now the long road of treatment will begin after he has TPLO surgery on his leg. This sweet boy has a long road ahead. His foster, having only had him for less than a week, absolutely adores this sweet boy and have driven to every appointment, including the trek to AMC. They will continue to care for him through the treatments and surgical recovery. The search for his forever home has been put on hold as his foster family has committed to his rehabilitation. He is being loved and spoiled…just what the doctor ordered.
Frankie has an Oncology appointment in Culver City on the 15th of Feb. We had to move it up from Feb 27th because the tumor is growing so quickly. Once we have the consult, we will find out what the treatment plan looks like. Right now, we are keeping him quiet while his TPLO surgery heals.
