This is the story of Hallie aka Honey who came to us as owner turn in. She grew up outside with goats as her companion and was bullied pretty bad by the other dog on the property until her owners decided to surrender her.
She had a lot of first times with her Foster Mom and SCGRR alumni Maizy. These first timers include living in a house, going for walks, morning cuddles in bed, chilling on a sofa, meeting dogs outside the house, not going nuts when you see other dogs etc.
We always say: you just need the one. And we were very clear that we didn’t want to compromise – as this girl deserved nothing but the best family for her.
In Honey’s case it was Steve and Amanda. We talked to them and knew they were perfect. They had calm energy and right from the start wanted no other dog than Honey. They mentioned her when they submitted the online application as they fell in love with her kind eyes.
It was love at first sight when they met her. I saw a happy Honey sitting right in front of Steve and Amanda, devouring all the attention and pets! She didn’t want to leave their side. We knew they were her forever home and would give her the best life.
They are planning to work on her walking skills and meeting dogs on walks with a professional so they can refresh their own knowledge. She is bonding well with Steve and Amanda and is learning their routine. They adore her and we are incredibly happy she is finally getting the life she deserves!
