Our relationship with SCGRR started out as a desire for a playmate for our 1.5 yr. old Bernese Mountain Dog..but when I saw the write up on “Hunter”, now Marshall , I knew he was meant for all of us. We didn’t know what kind of life he had before us, but we did know that he was a loyal and loving dog with the sweetest personality. Marshall’s goal in life was to provide comfort and the opportunity to snuggle the day away with him. He taught Murphy how to play catch and mark every plant, inside and out. They were inseparable.
Marshall was diagnosed with bone cancer in his elbow. During surgery they think his heart gave out due to a blot clot and we lost him. He was 3 years old. Though we only had him in our lives for 8mos, the loss hit us very hard. We see now that this journey was not for us or Murphy, rather for Marshall. We were so grateful to be chosen to have him join our family and give him all the love he deserved and perhaps hadn’t had in his life before us. Marshall will be so dearly missed and cherished by all who knew and loved him.
