About Me

Meet Allen, one of our S. Korean pups that arrived here a few weeks ago. He had a family over there, but the day his mom gave birth to a human baby poor Allen was out the door. Sigh

Besides being crazy cute, Allen is one of the most loving, kind, sweet goldens we have ever had, like many of those that have come from there before him. At 5 years old, he still acts like a much younger dog, and has a very curious, puppy like personality. He walks well on his leash after a little initial pulling, but responds well with a gentle reminder and will walk at your side. He is potty trained, and is totally trustworthy when left alone at home. He sleeps through the night on his dog bed near his foster mom, his preference.   Click on Video

Some of his favorite things are playing fetch, going for walks or runs, car rides (he gets VERY excited) and definitely being with his humans. And food-he does love to eat and will do a little happy dance when it is time to eat- his foster mom has to make him sit to calm him before setting his bowl down, which he does-did we mention he listens very well? He is a velcro boy who loves to follow his humans around. He is very smart and already knows a few commands in english, including coming to his name, sit and paw. He has not met anyone or anything with a pulse, 2 legged or 4 that he has not gotten along with, and that includes the resident cat. He is wonderful with children. He can be a little shy and is quite submissive, andhe does not have an aggressive bone in his body. Over all he’s just a silly, loving boy who wants to be loved.

While he is in excellent health, he did arrive here with some patchy hair loss which has been determined at this point to be allergic dermatitis. He is greatly improved after a few rounds of antibiotics and medicated baths, with his fur growing back in nicely but he is not 100% there yet. His new family will need to follow up further with their own veterinarian.

My Ideal Home

Allen would do well in just about any environment. As mentioned, he has lived with dogs, cats, kids and has been nothing but a wonderful boy with all. He has an amazing, go with the flow type of personality, and while he can be high energy, often trying to entice his humans to play with him, he can also easily turn it off when appropriate, where he just enjoys some cuddle time. He will thrive anywhere he is able to get the love and attention he craves, and richly deserves.
