Happiness is Baylor looking up at you with her luminous smile and offering you her favorite ball. Baylor was recently given up by her owner due to their work-related demands. Though understandably stressed, Baylor came to the rescue with many positives and is now ready to find her new forever home. Her naturally sunny disposition will fill any home with joy!
Baylor will greet each morning by imploring you for never-ending belly rubs while she cuddles up close. She will exuberantly jump around when you bring out her leash, and like most goldens, is ready for a couple of walks a day. On her walks, Baylor loves to stop and observe people, other dogs and the wildlife around her, as she sniffs through her world. Off leash, Baylor will generally come when called, though she can get distracted. If offered treats, she will sit nicely and smile winningly! And if you should need to run errands, Baylor will jump right in the car, ready to be strapped in for the ride. She is also old enough to spend a couple of hours alone with a furry brother or sister. During the day, Baylor loves to chase after and play with her furry foster brother, nap, help Mom with chores or nestle joyfully against you as you work.
While Baylor is eager to explore and learn from new activities she has a few areas that need improvement. For example, Baylor is still learning not to jump on furniture or on the adults and children she is greeting. She can get focused on chasing rabbits, birds and squirrels and is learning to watch them when asked instead of giving chase. She is happy to meet friendly dogs but is somewhat leash reactive with pesky dogs who growl. Baylor’s leash work also needs some polishing though she is enjoyable to walk. Baylor is very eager to please her people and would do well with obedience training.
My Ideal Home
Baylor would be at her best with an active family who likes to walk, hike and swim. She’d love a rambunctious fur brother or sister and a yard to run around in. Given Baylor’s lively nature her forever family should have slightly older children and very loving parent(s) who are gentle, love to snuggle, have time to spend with her and can help her learn to be the perfect family member!
