Meet Chauncey! He was sadly relinquished from his home after his owner needed to care for a sick family member – our gain because he is the SWEETEST boy! At almost 1 year old, Chauncey wants and needs a lot of love, attention and activity! He is looking for a forever home where his pawrents will be his best friend- including him in their adventures, taking him on long walks and giving him endless cuddles.
Having gone through a lot of transition in his short life, Chauncey is a bit of a velcro dog. He will sometimes cry when away from his foster parents for an extended period of time, but mellows out after a few minutes. He is a good sleeper (sleeping in his bed in the living room) not making a peep at night and has been a great, respectful co-worker to his foster mom who works from home.
Chauncey is currently shacked up with his foster sister – a 9lb yorkiepoodle. Chauncey wouldn’t hurt a fly, but does think she is a toy and is overly eager to play with her despite her decline. Chauncey has shown no signs of aggression with the larger dogs he has met on walks, but can get jumpy from the excitement. He does well on his leash with a harness, but will pull at times and zig zag when the smells are just too darn exciting.
My Ideal Home
Chauncey would do best in an active home. As a young dog, he will need a pawrent/pawrents who will have the patience and dedication to training him on good habits! Though he is not aggressive with other dogs, he would do best in a home where he can be the baby and attention does not have to be shared.
