About Me

Eloise is an adorable mixed-breed puppy that came to us with her brother, Elliot (also up for adoption). She came to us at about 14 weeks as an owner turn in from a litter born In Mexico. Currently, she is about 20 weeks old and as with any puppy, she behaves like a light switch.  One minute she is romping outside with her brother and the next minute she is crashed out in one of the dog beds!  Chasing her brother throughout all the trees and bushes seems to be her favorite activity. She is also learning to play ball and tug-of-war. She acts as a golf ball return system chasing balls that I am putting and generally bringing them back to my feet. She is extremely loving and always seeking attention. She loves to lay on her back and get her belly rubbed.  Eloise has an even demeanor and a great personality!
Eloise has several great qualities to offer her new family:###
-She gets along great with our dogs, constantly wrestling and jumping on them and licking their faces. Her new family needs to consider this if they have a dog.
-Eloise seems smart and has been very trainable, quickly learning to go the bathroom outside.  She is very food motivated. When she needs to be corrected by either of us or our dogs she will quickly back down.
-So far, we have not  seen any signs of food or toy aggression. In fact, she likes sharing her toys in playing tug-of-war or playing with a ball.
Since Eloise is just a puppy we are still learning about her behaviors and reactions to daily events that may need to be worked through:
Eloise is very tentative when someone new comes to the house. She tends to hide. It took her a fews days to get comfortable with us before we could pick her up or play with her. The key is to let her get comfortable and come to you.
Eloise is not much of a walker yet, but we have been working with her.  She is very tentative and noise reactive when we walk her. She usually gets better and seems to get more comfortable on the walk as she gets farther away from the house. She has had limited contact with people or dogs on the walks but what we have seen in her behavior so far is encouraging.
– Keep in mind that she is a puppy going through teething and is prone to chewing on items besides her toys and bones. Keep items of temptation out of her reach. She can be redirected to items she is allowed to have.
Eloise would be a great friend to your current dog provided your dog has an even demeanor and sets the tone for the relationship. So that both puppies can develop their own personalities and confidence they will need to go to separate homes. Please be prepared to give her the time she may need to become comfortable and transition to  her new home.
