Hi, my name is Lacie but my foster family calls me “Lucy Goosey” because I am a little clumsy and goofy. My puppy energy is still trying to catch up to my adult body. I don’t know why anyone wanted to give me up because I am just the sweetest, loving, most affectionate pup who is eager to please. A good citizen turned me into a shelter in March and it’s where I stayed for 4 months. Likely almost half of my short, little life. Thankfully, SCGRR came and rescued me. The vet thinks I am around 1 year old, so considering I have spent majority of my life in the shelter, I am an exceptionally good girl!
I know a few basic commands; “sit, paw, stay and back.” Paw Lacie Video I am 95% house trained, I have only had a couple accidents in my foster family’s house but I am a quick learner! I don’t bark, counter surf, or cry when you leave. I LOVE walks and have excellent leash manners. I may occasionally get excited when I see another dog but I am easily redirected. I love stuffed animals and hard, chew toys and haven’t chewed anything I was not supposed to in my foster family’s house (aside from a couple socks). I also love car rides and will hop right in! I love to play with other dogs! My foster sister is a 2 year old, golden retriever and we play great together, hours on end, leaving me tired and content. Silly Lacie Video I don’t show food or toy aggression and I’m on the submissive side during play. When hanging around the house I love to relax and be by my human’s side. Considering I have spent most of my life in a kennel, I like my crate time. I sleep great in my crate and I also like to be in there when my humans are gone.
I am still learning about the world outside of a cage, so I occasionally get nervous and cry when I am unsure what to do with myself. With continued support and training from my humans I will learn the world is a safe place. I am a little scared of loud noises, big hats and ceiling fans. But with a little comfort from my human I get over it quickly. I can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but I warm up quickly and everyone I meet falls in love with me. It is unsure how I am around cats. I can occasionally get excited and jump up to kiss your face, so I would be best in a home with kids 7+ but just so your know: I LOVE kids.
I also LOVE the water so a pool or beach trips would be great! Beach trip Video
My Ideal Home
Overall, I am an active, playful, smart, curious, sweet girl with a calm demeanor and I would be a wonderful addition to your family! I would do great with an active family or individual, who will provide tons of stimulation through walks, runs, and hikes.
I would love a large lot or yard, of course a pool and another doggie friend to play with. With continued love and support I have the potential to be the best dog ever!
