My rescue name is Taos, but I like to be called Cheddar. I am a very sweet, very loving, and very smart almost two-year-old girl. If you adopt me, we can celebrate my birthday together on March 19!
I’ve had a very good life, but my mama became sick and could no longer take care of me and gave me to this wonderful rescue to help find me a furever home. I’m a very healthy girl with no lumps or bumps but do take meds to prevent my having seizures. I’m so proud that I haven’t had any seizures in months! I’m also very proud of being potty-trained, I haven’t had a single accident while living with my foster parents! When I need to go, I sit at the family room slider so I can be let outside. Now that I have learned to use their doggie-door, I come and go as I please to take care of business!
I live with three other pups and really enjoy their company. I am definitely a “Velcro” pup; I like to follow my hoomans wherever they go and give them no privacy lol. There is also a toy basket where I live filled with great toys and bones! I love to play with the toys, some are plush animals, some with squeakers, and there are Nylabones I like to chew on. Sometimes I play tug-o-war with one of the other pups. When I’m not playing with toys, I might be just chillin on the sofa cuddling with my fosters, at their feet, or curled up on one of the soft doggie pillows. My fosters say I’m very affectionate, probably because I love to be petted and touched, and of course that includes a good belly rub! I like to give doggie kisses so if you won’t appreciate my affection, you may as well move on to the next dog! When bedtime comes around, I know the signs and I am the first one up the stairs and onto the bed! I feel safe and secure sleeping on the bed with my fosters and I stay there the entire night.
Oh . . . I almost forgot to tell you I’ve had some training and know some basic commands like sit, stay, come, and wait! I really like car rides, but I do pull on the leash a bit when walking because I get so excited. If you work with me, I’m sure I can learn to heel at your side.
My Ideal Home
I want to be part of your pack. That means I would love to be with big hoomans, little hoomans, and other pups. I’m a medium to high energy girl, so I’d like a forever home where the hoomans are a bit active, such as long walks, hikes, and maybe a bit of traveling so I can explore. The activity will keep me fit and healthy. I’d also like someone to be home with me during the day. I can be left alone for a few hours, but being such an affectionate velcro, I would really like to be home with someone and enjoy your companionship. I would love to live with another pup or young children that could play with me and keep me active.
