Midnight is a sweet boy that is just so happy to be alive and he has purest heart. He loves everyone he meets and if you let him, he will jump in your lap to cuddle. The cutest thing you see first is that when he wags his tail it’s in a circle! He will come to you nicely and ask you to shower him with lots of love and lot’s of belly rubs.
Since coming to his foster, Midnight has been a perfect boy with great manners. He is housebroken, doesn’t counter surf, and does not destroy anything that is not his. He takes treat nicely and hasn’t shown any food aggression. You can say that Midnight is a Velcro boy, he is interested in everything you do. You can see his big head following you and checking out what you are doing, and if he can’t help you, he will just lie next to you and show his support, like when you use the bathroom…ha!
He does ok on the leash, however, he is very curious of thongs he may encounter on his walk. I guess you can say that Midnight gets distract very easily on his outings especially when he spots a lizard, squirrel, rabbit, butterfly and even a leaf flying in the air. He won’t go crazy and drag you to chase them as long as you have him under control initially. Since he is so busy checking out the world, he sometimes step into your path as he zig zags to make sure he doesn’t miss anything. So you may need to watch out a bit when you are on walk.
The cutest thing about Midnight is that he is a collector! He likes to take things he finds interesting back to his bed. He doesn’t actually play fetch like normal dogs, he will fetch a toy and give it to you, but as soon as you throw it, Midnight run for it, but instead of bringing it back, he takes it to his bed. Ha! He does pretty well left alone, but you may find when you come home that he may have ‘rearrange/redecorated’ thing a little bit, but he has not been destructive. For example, he thinks the pillow should be on the floor instead of the sofa, the coaster should be on the floor instead of the table,… He especially likes to ‘reposition’ your shoes to his bed, the sofa, or wherever he things they would look better and where he can lay on them and rests.
Midnight plays well with his foster sister and when he went to doggy day at his foster’s work, he was in heaven. So many pups to play with and so little time. Midnight has not been around kids, but we believe that he would be just fine having small human siblings. Cats may be a different story considering his love of chasing things that move, but with patience, he may eventually do fine. Midnight doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.
Midnight is just the perfect sweet boy. All he wants is to be with you. He appreciates and cherishes whatever you give him. He will lie quietly next to you when you are busy, and is ready to run and play when you are. He does not ask for much, to him, being with you is the best thing.
My Ideal Home
Midnight would do well in pretty much any kind of home. Remember, we are not sure about cats, but if introduced and with patience, we think he may be fine eventually with them. He loves everyone and everything and is thankful for everyday he is loved. He really would love a fur sibling to run around with, and a yard for him to do zoomies in. He has not been around water, but we think he may love a pool.
