About Me

Meet Reyyan, a 2.5 yr old golden mix with cream and white coat, and a very fluffy tail! She is a sweet dog and loves her humans. She has not been very social with other dogs, so we are looking for an only dog home for her.

She was rescued from rummaging near the dumpsters when 5-6 months old. Her person took her in, but now that she is larger, her person was not able to give her enough exercise. They got another dog, but Reyyan would have nothing to do with her new furry companion. A family member moved in to the home, and Reyyan was still not happy with those dogs and kitties. She did have her own yard, but the homelife got a bit stressful for all.

Here is Reyyan exploring her backyard.     Click on Video

Her family tried a lot before deciding they must rehome her. She was very loved. Reyyan loves her walks and is very good on loose-leash. She loves to chase the ball with a chuck-it flinger. An hour will tire her out. A large backyard would be super great for her. She has good manners, and is learning more. She is very smart, and if she is ready to play, she will tease you until you get off the couch! She likes to steal your little things, and get you to chase her. Smart dog!!!! She does not chew them, just stares at you until you notice her with your ”thing”. Game ON!

It would be important to continue with her training, and work especially on recall: “come” and “leave it.” Since she is treat-oriented, learning new behaviors is delicious fun to her.

She likes tug, but sometimes she will get growly if you try to pickup the toy. So, a distraction and “find it” trick is in order. Then she resets to start playing again. You will want to research the “right way to play tug”.

Because she has a tendency to be mouthy, we prefer a no-kid home. The mouthy play is her most annoying puppy behavior needing your attention. She loves her humans and has good house manners.

My Ideal Home

We think that Reyyan’s idea home would be one with humans who want a lovely, fun, smart companion as your one-and-only. They can offer her a large yard to play fetch for hours (she is used to the Chuck-It!!!) Her family will continue with her manners training (mainly, the mouthy play nudgies) and she will be able to spend most of her time inside with you. Humans who appreciate a smart and affectionate dog, but not necessarily “Velcro” will make a good fit for sweet Reyyan.
