About Me

Meet puppy Ryker, brother to Huxley. We saved these puppies from an unfortunate situation they had found themselves in, through no fault of their own. They were extremely thin and not particularly clean, and had hacking kennel coughs. Once we got them to their foster family they ate as if they had never seen food before, necessitating a slow feeder so as not to choke themselves. Fast forward almost 2 weeks, and now we have 2 fat, healthy, happy puppies.

What is there to say about a puppy? Well, Ryker is as affectionate and as mellow as his brother-both of these guys have very even temperaments for puppies of their age. He too is already Velcro, and trails his foster mom and his 2 big brothers everywhere. He is crate trained now-he did put up a fuss the first night or two, but now is resigned to his fate and goes in easily at night, although he too would prefer to sleep with his brothers in their dog bed.

He LOVES to hang out with the big boys and tries very hard to insert himself into any/all wrestling sessions they may be having, size notwithstanding -he is a feisty guy. He loves his stuffies, tennis balls and his squeaky toys, and will vocalize along with them as he plays (quirky but adorable). He too will sit and come, and much more quickly if a treat is involved, as treats make everything so much better lol.

He too is working on his potty training, but he is definitely not all the way there. He is not great on a leash, and his foster mom has not walked him much due the fact he has not yet been fully vaccinated, as well as recovering from kennel cough.

My Ideal Home

Ryker is still a very young puppy and he needs a home where his human(s) are around most, if not all of the day, as he will not do well alone nor in a crate 8+ hours. He needs another young, playful canine to show him the ropes, who will be both his best buddy and his mentor. A family who wants to make a puppy another member of the pack, and who will commit to making sure that he has everything he might need to be the best dog he can be.

Please note-Ryker has not received his complete series of vaccines, nor has he been neutered, thus the adoptive family will need to commit and adhere to the schedule SCGRR will provide them regarding the terms and conditions of both vaccines and neuter dates as required-this will be a condition for adoption.

Want to Adopt me?

If your home is one where Huxley will have all the things on his wish list, please contact his adoption team at goldenrescue10@gmail.com. Please note that puppies are in very high demand, and we expect far more applicants than we have puppies available so please set your expectations accordingly.
