Say hello to Se Woong, also fondly called “Saay”, which means “Captain, Good, Graceful”. With his sweet eyes and handsome smile he is 75 lb of pure zest for life! Even at four years old, he is a big goof-ball puppy at heart. With continued training and love, Se Woong will become the best dog he can be! Click on Video
Se Woong was rescued from a shelter in Korea by members of SCGRR’s International team. Like most of our saved Korea dogs, Se Woong was treated for heartworm and will need to be on continued heartworm prevention.
Upon arrival, SCGRR transferred Se Woong to our board and train facility to give him the needed foundation to be his best! While in boarding, our trainers worked on teaching him the basics and discovered his love to carry items in his mouth.
We believe this is the first time he has lived in a home and even though some things scared him at first, like the TV and mirrors, he’s never shy away from exploring and discovering all the new smells and sounds. He is smart and his curiosity could easily get him into trouble – just like a puppy!– so he needs to be closely supervised and guided through the boundaries of a new household. Once he knows the lay of the land, which he learns very fast, he will show you his more mellow and calm side while napping next to you, watching tv and getting neck scratches. Click on Video
He is crate trained, and knows his basic commands, and is 99% potty trained. He has bad occasional accidents if not taken out frequently. He’s very active and enjoys his time outside exploring, playing and running at least 1-2 hrs a day. Se Woong does exhibit a high prey drive toward squirrels, so a home without cats or small critters is best. Also, due to his size and mouthiness, a home with children over 10 would be appropriate. Mouthing was an issue early on, but now with training and re-direct of chew toys and other positive alternatives, this behavior is now minimal and only when extremely excited.
Se Woong is currently residing in an apartment and he would love to have a yard to do his zoomies and sun bathe, but is doing great in the apartment and is thriving with the needed outdoor exposure. He recently had a play date hike with two friendly dogs and they all got along amazing! Se Woong really enjoyed meeting new furry friends! Click on Video
My Ideal Home
Se Woong’s ideal family will have the dedication and patience to make sure he continues with his basic training and socialization.
He would benefit from an outdoorsy household and someone to show him the world. Although he might be good with another dog similar in size, he would really love to be the center of attention.
