Meet Tommy, a beautiful boy whose life took a challenging turn when he was surrendered to a LA Shelter on December 17, 2022, by his owner due to his diagnosis of hematuria and cancer. It was a heartbreaking moment for him, but little did he know that his life was about to change for the better.

The shelter staff immediately contacted a SCGRR upon learning about Tommy’s condition. We wasted no time and rushed to pull him out of the shelter. When we met Tommy, we were greeted with a wagging tail and a heart full of love. Despite his health issues, Tommy exuded a spirit that touched everyone’s hearts.

The rescue team took Tommy to a vet for a thorough examination. The vet confirmed that Tommy indeed had hematuria, urinary bladder masses, and suspected a transitional cell carcinoma. It was clear that his journey ahead would be challenging, but the rescue board decided to make a decision that would change Tommy’s life forever.

The decision was made to place Tommy in a permanent foster home within the rescue organization. He would no longer have to worry about being bounced from one place to another. Instead, he found a loving, caring, and dedicated foster mom who was determined to make the rest of his days filled with love and happiness.

Under his foster mom’s watchful eye, Tommy received the medical attention and daily medications he needed to slow down the progression of his cancer. The treatment helped to improve his quality of life, and he quickly adapted to his new routine. As days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, Tommy thrived in his foster home and celebrated his 6 months “Got You” day with joy and gratitude.

Despite his health challenges, Tommy had an insatiable zest for life. He loved going on walks, visiting people, and spending time playing with his foster sister, Blondie. Tommy’s charming personality and handsome looks made him the center of attention whenever he ventured out with his foster mom, whether it was to a restaurant or the beach.
